What would cause countrymen to go to war against one another?
Introduction
The characteristics of The North part of The United States and The South part of The United States differed greatly before the beginning of The Civil War. The economic, political, and social characteristics of each region helped set the stage for the most decisive battle between American citizens that America experienced to this day. This chapter will take us through four of the major causes of The Civil War including the election of Abraham Lincoln as President, the abolition movement, states’ rights vs. federal rights, and economic and social issues.
