What if...? : The Articles of Confederation v. The Constitution
The Articles of Confederation written from 1777 until 1781, and would be used as the United States form of government before the Constitution. The Articles of Confederation were not used, because the the Constitution called for a stronger federal government so the United States could be as one nation. Today, the Articles of Confederation are thought of as "America's first failure of government". Imagine that the government today still used the Articles of Confederation, that favored states' rights more, what might be different? Would the nation have more disagreements?
